Bippity Boppity BOO!!

It's almost the end of the week and its the best feeling ever :) Tomorrow we will be sitting down to discuss our roadtrip through BC and Seattle that is coming up in 2 weeks, then Saturday is a golf event with Luke's company ( I am not a golfer..not even by a longshot..so this should be pretty interesting!!) and then Sunday I'm taking the whole day to work in my studio and prep for my table that I'm setting up on October 4th for Bustin Loose, the race to end breast cancer.

I will be selling a few of my autumn/halloween cards, including this cutie from Stamping Bella

I mixed a few different seasons' worth of Making Memories halloween lines of patterned paper, used my SB stamp and colored in with my Copics/Prismas and cut the image out with my small circle nesties. The sentiment is from Karen Lockhart..

For a finishing touch, I used burnt orange Kaisercraft gems on the pumpkin. Speaking of which, I was beyond excited when I heard that PTI will now be carrying these little beauties in their store! You have no idea how frustrating it is to go into my lss and they never have the same colors from month to month!

Your Favorite Little Pumpkin

Its official! Summer will soon be coming to an end =( On my way home from work tonight I passed a tree with yellow leaves!! I don't know how it happened..one minute the trees are new and green and the next minute they are gone! I am also anticipating that in the next 3-4 weeks our local Farmer's Market will be stocked full of pumpkins too and to be honest..I couldn't be happier! Most people groan when they see sunflowers and pumpkins show up at Michaels in July..but me? I'm giddy with ideas!

So it should be no surprise then that this post is none other than the Trick or Treat Bella from Stamping Bella.. she came out last Fall and I bought her the very first day she was available! I thought it was ridiculously cute!!

I made the card out of Summer Sunrise cardstock from PTI, used pp from Making Memories and the sentiment is from PTI's Spooky Sweets set..

The best feature (besides the image) is the spider web that is embossed on to the card base using my Cuttlebug..

And as a finishing touch, I used Orange Stickles around the pumpkin costume :)

Peekaboo!

It's Friday!!!

I am so excited to have another weekend ahead of me! There really isn't anything better than knowing you have 2 solid days to blissfully do whatever you want! (and yes I am fully aware that this will all change with children!) Tomorrow its a full day in the studio to complete some orders and then Sunday its off to Heritage Park in Calgary..a place that I have loved going to ever since I was a child! If you've never been there and are ever in Calgary, I fully recommend it! An entire village built upon life in the 1930's and 40's including a steam train and ferry boat! I promise to take lots of photos :)

My card today came after a request for Bridal Shower cards and I instantly thought up of this stamp from Stamping Bella (of course!) And whenever I think of bridal showers/bachelorette parties, I always think of pink and black! And this is what I came up with..

I just love it when I finish a card, step back and am instantly happy with the results! It doesn't always happen that way unfortunately but it sure feels good when it does!! I used Making Memories "Sabrina" line of patterned papers and the sentiment is also Stamping Bella..

For an added sparkle, I used Cotton Candy Stickles on the polka dotted present and the fluffy part of her way-too-cute shoes!

Sweet as Candy

Hey Everyone!

How is it in your area? We're starting to look like drowned rats here in Southern Alberta, the rain has been coming down all day long!! And, unfortunately, it doesn't look like its getting any better til Sunday! So to cheer myself up, I started on a birthday order of a sweet cupcake bella from none other than Stamping Bella!



I stamped my image onto PTI's Stamper Select white cardstock, then coloured it in with Prisma's and Copics...

To finish off its yummy-ness I drew on Star Dust Stickles for an oh-so-pretty sparkle =)



Here's the final project!! Doesn't it remind you of bubblegum ice cream?

Martini Diva!!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope your weekends were relaxing and super enjoyable!! I attended my best friends' house warming party on Saturday where a bocce tournament was held and I got to spend more time with my niece, who in just one short month will already be a year old! (where on Earth does time go?) And then on Sunday, my parents and my girlfriend Kim and I all strapped in and headed around town for an absolutely beautiful garden tour where we got tons of great ideas for our own yards!! I mean seriously... look at these beautiful roses!!

And now for todays' project ... I received new stamps from Stamping Bella last week and this was the first to be inked in the group.. none other than Addy tude LOVES her 'tinis.. I love this stamp so much!! I was super excited when it was unveiled and I know that it will get a lot of use! The sentiment comes with it as well.. and who hasn't said this one before!!

To add a little "reality" to the card, I used Crystal Effects on her sunglasses and the martini glasses for a real "glass-like" finish, as well as Lemon Stickles on the flower centres.. and last but not least, white Fun Flocking for her fur trim!! How cool is that?

Super fun card that I plan on making quite a few more of for my stash!!

Howdy Y'All!!

No I haven't completely lost my marbles!! I'm just really getting into the Western spirit seeing as in just 2 short weeks our city will be hosting our annual Exhibition and Stampede, which I believe in the U.S is called County Fair, no? Either way, I'm not usually one to jump on the bandwagon this time of year but we decided to host a "Old West" themed potluck on Friday, July 24th and it has now blossomed to a full week, office decorated, wear plaid and a cowboy hat kind of event..and I'm extremely excited ;)

I will take pictures of the office and post them starting on Monday, July 20th, but thought I'd give you an idea of the kinds of cards one could make for their Cowpoke friends, or even just for fun to anyone! I used one of my go-to stamp companies, Stamping Bella once again..isn't it an adorable image?



The patterned paper is Creative Imaginations/Debbie Mumm, the star print is from PTI and the "Howdy" sentiment is from The Cats Pajamas (more from this set will be shown in 2 weeks, you'll love it I promise!)

I coloured the image in with a mixture of Copics and Prisma's and gave finishing touches like the belt buckle and nice silver finish with this pen..

I can't wait to use this card!! Its just so freaking cute!!!

I thought I'd leave you with some photos I took 2 nights ago while sitting on the back deck waiting for Luke to come home from work...its so peaceful!!

and of course..it wouldn't be Alberta without some cows in the picture ;)

Major Computer Issues Continued..

Hey guys!

So we finally got a new modem to get us back on the Internet about a week ago and now we have a Trojan virus that is 100% frustrating, but we're working on it!!

Our weekend wedding was fabulous! It was soo nice to get out of town and have a mini vacay..got some great shopping in, saw some old friends and danced til our feet hurt!! Here's us waiting for the ceremony to start..

Aww ;) And the best part? Luke caught the garter!! haha ... needless to say, I was more than happy about that!!

On to the card for the day, its an oldie but goodie and made from the very first stamp I ever bought from Stamping Bella, and her name is Partygirlabella..

Isn't she cute? I used my Prisma's to colour her in, as well as red stickles to surround the heart balloons for a little extra glam ;)

I'm off to work again though, hopefully my computer will be fixed tonight and I can get back to regular posting!! Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Knit Happens..

Happy Friday!!

I know I said I wasn't posting anything til Monday, but I thought I'd sneak on here quickly before the weekend starts and post a cute bella!! Knitting is not my forte but I have many family members that love the craft, including my grandma who is now recovering in the hospital from her knee replacement surgery and is doing awesome!! Here is my card for today..



Both the image and sentiment come from Stamping Bella, one of my main go-to companies from stamps..don't you just love this saying? It still makes me smile when I bring it out! And in a few days time I'm expecting another sweet sentiment to go with this image that I promise to share ;) All patterned paper is Martha Stewart Crafts..

Now, I have just an hour and a half left of the work week and then bring on the weekend! We decided to stay home tonight and leave tomorrow morning instead just so that I can have time with my granny (and I also still need to pack!) But I'm looking forward to getting out of town for a change..hoping to stop by the mall on Sunday before coming home ;)

A Very Bella Birthday

Hey Everyone!

How is your week coming along? I'm so excited for the upcoming long weekend here that I can barely contain myself! I don't have huge plans but I hope to get a lot of cleaning/organizing done, visiting with friends and family and hopefully some stamping in as well! I just received my Taylored Expressions, 'Boys Will be Boys" stamps in today so expect to see some Father's Day samples coming soon..this set is adorable, I cannot wait to show you the finished cards!

Meanwhile, I have so many stamps in my collection from Stamping Bella, and I thought I would share this one that I made a little while ago for my cousins' store in Saskatoon, Amos and Andes. Their cute boutique sells a good variety of my cards (yay!) so if you are ever near them, make sure to stop by and say hi!

I wanted to go a little bit more girlie with this one, so I made sure to grab my paper pad from Papertrey Ink for the polka dot background, as well as used my 'Melon Berry' and New Leaf' cardstock for the base. My favorite part of this image is the cupcake, of course, so to make it stand out and look yummalicious I layered on my 'Fruit Punch' stickles and look at the result!

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's 2nd Anniversary set and was also stamped in 'Melon Berry'.

It's Finally Spring!

Spring has finally started to show its face around here! In a blink of an eye the trees are turning green and the perennials are poking their heads up from a very long winters' nap. This past winter seemed like it would never end!!

The beginning of any new season always gets me excited, makes me feel refreshed and leaves me anticipating new changes in my life. I've gone through a lot this year already and without hesitation, I'm ready to fully jump into a new, exciting time in my life. I've contemplated what I'd like to do to change things up for myself and I know that developing my creative side is definitely up first on the docket! I'm interested in teaching myself more about photography, learning new papercrafting skills and even new stamping techniques. I just became a stamper this past summer (you wouldn't know that by looking at the stamp supplies I've managed to gather in such a short period!). And I can't help but be intrigued by more advanced stampers and what you really can do with just some paper, ink and stamps!

What does a new season mean to you? What is on your list of things to accomplish this season? Whatever it is..be excited for it, learn everything you can about it and pass what you learn on to others! Happy Spring everyone!
