Back at the inlaws ;) So here comes another post!! Today I was able to spend the afternoon in my studio and get some crafty goodness off my desk. While most of my creations are for submission to publications, I did create a special goodie just for the ol blog 'o! Since today marks just one month til Valentine's Day, I thought I would create a sweet little something for you...

All products used today (minus the Divine Twine: Valentine ) are from Papertrey Ink ;)

Be Mine, Valentine...CR84FN Challenge 13

Hey Everyone!!

How was your weekend? We are back in the midst of winter again :( It started snowing Friay night and hasn't quit yet! Temperatures have plummeted 25 degrees and the roads are icy nightmares! Compare this with my head cold that has developed and you can bet I stayed in all weekend long! There are some definite advantages to my staying in..laundry is caught up, house is clean and I got quite crafty with all my spare time!

Speaking of craftyness...on to this week's CR84FN Challege (#13) and my second time participating!! This week's colors are Brown, Red and Teal...yummy! And with Valentine's Day being 15 days away..I could hardly resist making a valentine for someone sweet on my list..

Above is this week's challenge, and below is my take on these beautiful colors!!

What do you think? I used PTI's Kraft CS for my base as well as their Hawaiian Shores and Dark Chocolate! The polka dot paper is from Michaels (love it!) And the fun border is also from PTI, which I ran through with my Cuttlebug

I used Betsy Veldman's idea of faux embossing on the Dark Chocolate with PTI heart dies and the sentiment is from PTI's 2010 Love Tags stamp set

And of course I couldn't forget my envelope!! Since this card is for a very special valentine of mine (my little niece) I decorated it with a heart doily from Michaels, some red/white twine and a postage stamp, also from PTI's 2010 Love Tags stamp set!

Just your heart, in exchange for mine..

This Valentine's Day will be our first as a couple..and we'll be spending it somewhere on the Golden Coast :) And because I wake up every morning, grateful that this amazing man has been placed in my life, I want to acknowledge it in a special way on Valentine's Day! And I have no idea how I'm going to do it yet :( So as I am perusing blogland daily, I come across inspirational bits (quotes, photos, etc) and I need a place to "store" them..so here we go :)

I love bleeding hearts..I have them in my own gardens and many photos such as these that I've taken..but..is it too girlie for my farmer?!? Nevertheless..I love it and am SO glad I found these bits of inspiration!! What are you doing for Valentine's Day?!?! We have 21 days left to plan!!

Valentine's re-cap...

So this post was supposed to go up a few days ago but unfortunately this past weekend got away from me way too quickly!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and a super sweet Valentine's Day! I spent my day at home with family and chose this little cutie to be my Valentine this year..

On Friday I brought Red Velvet cupcakes to the office and had to laugh when 2 of my closest coworkers and I all wore red!! Had to get a photo of that..just because ;)

Aren't these cupcakes delicious looking?? Trust me, they tasted amazing..thank goodness they were all eaten at work because I would have gained 10 lbs if they were laying around my house!!

This is also the last Valentine I made for no one in particular. I was inspired by the Making Memories "Love Struck" advertisement in the latest Creating Keepsakes magazine, have you seen it? I just loved the idea of hearts falling down a card to symbolize "I'm falling for you"..such a beautiful thing!!

Cardstock and patterned paper are from Papertrey Ink, glittered chipboard hearts and baking twine are Martha Stewart and the mini calendar is from Websters..SO cute!!

You Light Up My Life..

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

Are you all ready for Valentine's Day this Sunday?? I was busy in my studio last night making a few last minute goodies and I have to admit, I really love all the red and pink thats in my house right now..it just makes me ridiculously happy! I have quite a few projects to show you this week but for today its another card made with Impress images..

Both the lamp and the sentiment can be found online at Impress, while the cardstock and patterned paper are both from PTI...don't you just love their new Valentine's Day paper pad? Its gorgeous!

And then, because I can't seem to get enough of the Martha Stewart glittered chipboard hearts, I added a couple to the lower half of the card...they just remind me of a sugared candy..and really, isn't that what Valentine's Day is all about?? ;)

So what are your plans for Valentine's Day? Tomorrow night I will be baking Red Velvet cupcakes to bring to my office on Friday .. (this will be my first attempt at these kind of cupcakes, so keep your fingers crossed for me!!) Then this weekend I will be going to the movies with my mom to watch "Valentine's Day" , have you seen the previews for this? It looks so good and I cannot believe how much star power they have!!

But I should get back to work here..so have an amazing day and I will be back tomorrow!!

Sending Sweet Thoughts..

When I saw this set from Stampin Up, I knew I would soon be calling it mine! I loved all 3 of the images it came with..one for Fall, one for Christmas and then of course this whimsically sweet one that is just perfect for Valentines Day...

I will be sending this sweet card off to a very good friend of mine in Victoria, BC..and I hope that I haven't missed the deadline for its safe and prompt arrival before next weekend!!

I used PTI's Pure Poppy for my base as well as some vintage sheet music I bought off of Etsy..I scored a lot of paper for very little..you just have to be patient ;) I then stamped my image onto Vintage Cream cardstock with Pure Poppy Ink and added a couple of Martha Stewart glittered chipboard hearts to boot!!

A very simple and sweet card today that just melts my cozy little heart :)

Cupid has landed..

So this past weekend it appeared as though Cupid had exploded on my craft desk. I brought out all of my new Valentine's Day goodies and before I knew it, I was getting really in to it! I had so much fun with the red and pink colours and the glittered hearts..and I am no where near being done either!

I purchased some new stamps recently from Impress and wanted to put them to good use before the "love" holiday passes us by..of course my cards will all be sent off to girlfriends this year, but you know what? Thats okay! And who knows..maybe I'll just buy myself chocolate and flowers this year too (and I'll buy all my favorites while I'm at it!!)

So, here is my first Valentine of the year..isn't this photo sweet? I picked up that cute lil mailbox at Michaels and I'm sad to report I went back for more and they were already all sold out!

I used PTI's Pure Poppy Cardstock for my base as well as PTI's patterned paper found here. I love this paper bundle..the colors and images are to die for!

The cupid and heart flourish are Impress images while the sentiment is from PTI. Velvet ribbon was purchased from Taylored Expressions..and it seriously adds the perfect touch to a Valentine card..I love it!

And I'm starting to decorate the insides of my cards more now too so I couldn't resist sneaking this picture in...

Inside sentiment is from this set while the heart clusters is from this one, both of Papertrey Ink. So, what do you think? Doesn't it just make you a little excited for Valentine's Day? Many people find this holiday highly over-rated but for me its just yet another excuse to bring out my paper goodies and make something oh so sweet for those I love :)
