Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #18

Hey Everyone!!

Its finally the middle of the week..which means another weekend is just on the horizon and I don't know about you, but I can't wait! We have a really big Christmas craft show coming up on Saturday and its almost become a tradition for my mom and I to walk around, buy jugs of cranberry cider and see whats new and cozy in Christmas decor for the coming season...

Speaking of Christmas, I've been crafting up holiday cards like crazy lately and when I saw Dawn McVey's new Color Challenge, I knew that I wanted to try my hand at a Christmas card with PTI's Green Leaf, Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream and Kraft papers and inks...

I started out with a Kraft card base, then used Vintage Cream and Raspberry Fizz inks to stamp the snowflakes from PTI's Snowfall for my background.

Then I used a sentiment from Dawn's very own set called Signature Christmas, which was stamped in Dark Chocolate ink, also from PTI.

To finish off the card, I stamped 2 damask stockings from PTI's Stocking Prints with Raspberry Fizz ink on to Raspberry Fizz CS and cut them out, then attached them to PTI's New Leaf Bitty Dots Ribbon with a chocolate button..

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #15

2 posts in one day!! Woo hoo!!

I haven't participated in Dawn McVey's color challenges all summer so I thought I'd try my hand at it once again :) We have been invited to a neighbor's house for a fun, old fashioned barbeque so I thought I should pick up a bouquet of beautiful flowers and make a card to thank my gracious hostess for opening up their home to us. And since summer barbeques always remind me of days gone by, I thought I'd try my hand at a little bit more of a vintage look with this challenge..

I used Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits for the floral image and their Mega Mixed Messages stamp set for the sentiment..

PTI's Vintage Buttons in Melon Berry and Hibiscus allowed me to incorporate more color, in smaller doses..which is perfect in these kinds of challenges when you have know idea how to bring them all together!

I stamped the sentiment in Hibiscus ink onto Vintage Cream cardstock as well..

And to finish off my card, I stamped Polka Dot Basics ll onto Versmark ink and heat embossed it with filigree clear embossing powder.. I love the look it gives my cards!!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #8

Hey All!!

I absolutely love these weekly challenges of Dawn McVey's! They force me to combine colours that I would never have thought of on my own and every week I get so excited to see what the next challenge is going to be! This week was no different! I used Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream and Kraft this week..

I used my Life stamp set from Papertrey Ink, as well as their Text Style Background Basics, which is becoming an absolute favorite of mine!!

I embellished the card with a chocolate flower and raspberry fizz vintage button and tied it up with twine for a girlie effect!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7

Hey Everyone!

Another week, another color challenge by Dawn McVey! I am starting to absolutely love these challenges as they force you to use colors you might not otherwise put together..and challenging yourself is always important when it comes to creativity!!

I've been noticing a lot of florals and twine lately, so I thought I'd use this challenge to give it my "best" shot! I cut 3 circles out using my sm. circle nesties, then scrunched them up in unfolded them, placed them randomly on top of one another and plopped on a button tied with twine..simple and easy, just how I like it!

Then I stamped my base with my Background Basics: Text Style stamp set that I just got delivered yesterday (YAY!), cut out a strip of Avocado and ran it through my Fiskars Threading Water border punch and wrapped some Raspberry Fizz around it! I realized though that the card needed something more than just a plain sentiment so then I cut another narrow strip of Avocado and used my Leaf Nesties to make these intricate leaves and created a stem!

I'm very happy with how this turned out and can't wait to send it out to someone special! Thanks for checking out my entry..have a great night!

Week 6 of the Raspberry Suite Challenges!

Hey Everyone!

So this week Dawn McVey did it again with her colour choices! I'm in love with these colours, just looking at them reminds me of an old fashioned ice cream shop! YUM!

Since I needed to make a cute birthday card for my coworkers birthday this Thursday, I decided to kill two birds with one stone..create a card to fit the challenge as well as one that would suit my beautiful friend for her birthday!

I used all Papertrey Ink products: Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet, Dark Chocolate and Stampers Select White for my cardstock, the floral image comes from their 'Green Thumb' stamp set and the sentiment is from their 'Wishing You' set.

To polish off the card, I used my Nestabilities Small Circle and Small Scalloped Circle for the sentiment, as well as my Nestabilities Labels die for the image background. Once the floral image had been cut out I ran it through my Cuttlebug with my favorite folder, Swiss Dots..it just adds that little extra somethin' don't you think?

Last but not least I used my Dark Chocolate, polka dot ribbon as well as Diamond Stickles for the flower centres. Cute, cute and cute!!

Raspberry Suite #5

Hey All!

I love, love, LOVED the colours in this weeks Raspberry Suite challenge! It allowed me to play with the new Hibiscus and Smokey Shadow colours and any excuse to play is good enough for me! When I saw these colours, I instantly thought of a funky but sweet baby girl card and knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to break in my Scattered Showers stamp set. This set is so cute and whimsical and I know that I will reach for it time and time again...

I don't have anyone specific in mind yet for a recipient, but I know that it won't stay long in my stash of goodies!!
