These are a few of my favourite things..

Hey guys!

I know it has been a very long time since I shared or discussed anything crafty on here but, to be honest, I haven't made a single thing since I packed up my belongings last October for our move here to the farmhouse! Every box was placed in the basement, renovations began and then Hudson came along and before I knew it..crafting had gone by the wayside :( But now, I'm itching to set my studio back up and get into the swing of things, especially with the holidays around the corner!

Now, I don't know about you but I am a huge sucker for holiday crafting supplies. I buy them up like candy and admire them year round..yes, I am that kind of person ;) Anyways, I have been anxiously awaiting the new holiday stamp catalogues these last few weeks so imagine my delight when I realized today was the day for the new 2014 Stampin Up holiday booklet! I love this company and buy their holiday stamps every year and this year? Wow they created some AMAZING sets! I giddily flipped thru their book and my wish list just kept going, and going, and going. I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite things from Stampin Up today, I know its only August but, the holidays will be here before you know it!

I love this image so much. The beautiful papers and homemade tags just feel so cozy! I love this page from the catalogue so much that I created a 3x4 just for this weeks PL spread. Now, that might sound silly to you but for me, Project Life is about what goes on in our daily lives. Documenting the ordinary and the extraordinary. Holiday crafting is a big thing for me and remembering days like today are what its all about in my album!!

Okay, so on to a few of the gorgeous goodies that have my mind swirling with ideas!

Okay so probably one of the things that really excited me was the new Project Life Cards by Stampin Up, they feature Fall & Christmas themed cards to really help wrap up your albums these final months of 2014. Here is a closer look!

On the left is the Card Collection and on the right is the Accessory Pack full of printed transparencies, labels, enamel dots..you name it!! And they also have come out with a Project Life Holiday stamp set!! I absolutely love it! They also came out with the stamp set in digital brushes you can download..genius!

And finally, 2 more stamp sets that I am very excited to start using

The gratitude for days stamp set will be my weekly prompt to stop and think about what I am truly grateful for that week. Its a practice I have realized I need to begin doing to sometimes remind myself of how blessed I truly am.

And the seasonally scattered stamps? How gorgeous are they!?!

All in all, I found inspiration on every single page and LOVE what they came out with for this coming holiday season. If you want to check out the PDF for yourself, hop on over to there site here and take a gander!

Every year I take our holiday photo and order our Christmas cards to mail out to family and friends. This year, however, I am tackling the job myself! Creating homemade cards for friends and family will be a little labour of love that I am looking forward to starting! Hope I have inspired you today to get those crafting supplies out and create something today!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

While Americans celebrate their Thanksgiving in late November, the holiday has always landed in early October for us Canadians..and today is the day!! Growing up, I always saw ads/commercials for American thanksgivings and was always jealous at how celebrated it is there. Here, in Canada, we do the celebratory dinner complete with turkey and all the fixins, but it just seems to really hit home way more South of the border!! I have always dreamed of hosting my own Thanksgiving dinner, having family & friends at my dinner table and, once we get in to our farmhouse and settled in, I really hope we can do so! I think it would be so nice to plan the meal, shop for all the requirements and prep the food, just like my mom and grandma did for us growing up..I think its time to take over & return the favor ;)

I have loved the above Norman Rockwell photo for years. It symbolizes what Thanksgiving and life is really all about, family. To be blessed with a loving family that you can sit around a table full of delicious food and laugh and share stories is what it really is all about, isn't it?!!

Now that I am married, live in the country and have this romantic view of our farm life, I truly feel holidays will be that much more if I can get everyone together here at our farm for fun filled weekends full of laughter, food and tall tales. Theres just something about living on a farm, I can't explain it!! In fact, I have already requested a dinner bell off our front porch to ring and call in the family whenever dinner is on the table..how fun would that be?

DING DING DING..... DINNER!!!!

this was taken this past Summer at the farmhouse in Heritage Park, LOVED this dinner bell ;)

Now, truth be told, I have never made a turkey before. I mean, I helped mom a few times here and there but never have I made one from scratch on my own! Sure, I've roasted chickens before..but only recently. And yes, you can guarantee I'd still want my mom in the kitchen with me if they were to come to the farm for Thanksgiving, but thats all part of the fun!!

So today, if you are Canadian..I hope you put on your cutest aprons and enjoy the day with your family! I can smell the turkey already...Mmmm, Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!!

Gobble, Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians!!

Today is the first beautiful Fall Sunday we have had and it fits perfectly with our Canadian Thanksgiving. The air is cool & crisp, the sun is shining golden thru the beauitfully tinged leaves of the trees and the smell of turkey is in the air...yum!!

There are so many reasons to be thankful this year. Even though I have been battling the flu the last few days, I am still so grateful for everything that has been going on in my life.

I am thankful:
- for my amazing family. I don't get to see them that often anymore now that I've moved, but they are so amazing in every way
-for my soon to be husband, Adam. Words could not possibly describe our relationship or how I feel about it. He is my everything and to this day I still cannot believe I get to marry him (in 27 days!!!!)
-for my friends..they mean the world to me and I don't think I'd survive without their friendship
-my partner in crime, Jakey..that dog is the star of my life...I just love him so much!!
- for the ability to quit my job and focus on building the business I have always dreamed of
-that in 27 days, I will be one half of such a magical day. I've been given the opportunity to plan the wedding of my dreams..and what girl wouldn't be grateful for that?
-that I have a love of this crafting industry that inspires so many people around the world. Paper crafting is a huge part of who I am and I have no idea who I would be without it!
-for all of you..you inspire me and I am always so grateful that you could take time out of your own lives to check in on mine..thank you!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday, Thanksgiving or not! Take care everyone and Happy Crafting!
