Unscripted Sketches #169

Happy Weekend Everyone!!

I hope you are all enjoying beautiful summer weather, wherever you may be! Its a tad warm for my liking today which is fine by me, more crafting time!! I'm back today for this weeks latest Unscripted Sketches challenge

I loved the polaroid feel of this sketch and knew I had to break out my brand new set from Papertrey Ink called Fabulous Frames for this! Something I am truly loving about doing card sketches again is that it is inspiring me to create for fun again, and, because the guess work is done for you, you just have to come up with a theme and go with it! SO much fun!! Now, the past 2 challenges I have made Christmas cards, but there is another holiday that I love almost as much: Halloween. And yesterday, after coming across my growing pumpkins, I started getting excited for Fall and thoughts of Halloween came flooding in!

So, with that..here is my submission for Unscripted Sketches Challenge #169!

I had a lot of fun creating this card! I used an image from my Crafty Secrets stash as well as some 3/4" circles punched from Making Memories spideweb paper and the rest was cardstock, die cuts and ink from Papertrey Ink..so easy!

After making this card, I'm so excited for Fall and Halloween now..September makes me giddy, October I'm in heaven and Nov/December..well, you know how much I love those months ;) Now that my scarecrow is up in the garden and the pumpkins are sprouting like crazy..I say, bring it on!

and thats my card for this weeks challenge! Thank you so much for stopping by my little world here on the blog - hope you have a great weekend!!

Unscripted Sketches #168

I'm back again with my next Unscripted Sketches submission! 2 weeks ago was my first time participating in this challenge, and I had a blast! They are celebrating Christmas in July and, because Christmas is my obsession, I couldn't resist! The challenge does not have to be completed in Christmas fashion but hey, why not? I didn't compete last week but I am very proud to say that my October Afternoon creation from 2 weeks ago made their Top 3! Thank you so much ladies!! I truly appreciate the honor!

And now I am back with this weeks challenge

and here is what I made with the sketch, I followed it pretty precisely

for my project this week, I used all MME Lost & Found Christmas line from 2011 - its a beautiful collection that I hoarded collected last year, and still love it to this day!

Pretty simple, nothing too extravagant this week (the glittered papers/embellishments are really all the "extras" you need!)

the only extra I added was a couple of stamped snowflakes from Papertrey Inks In the Meadow stamp set, just to add a pop of red to the Santa image

and that is my submission for this weeks Unscripted Sketches Challenge # 168! Thank you so much for stopping by today..Happy Crafting everyone!!

Unscripted Sketches #166

Just quickly popping in over the weekend to show you my very first card for Unscripted Sketches! After reading my friend Dawns blog, I hopped on over to Unscripted Sketches to see what they were all about and, upon realizing they are celebrating Christmas in July {hello, I love Christmas!}, I couldn't wait to get started!! Here is this weeks sketch:

and this little Christmasey beauty is my take on the sketch..

I filled my card with October Afternoon, Papertrey Ink cardstock and burlap and am so happy with how it turned out! Probably one of the fastest cards to ever come together and that is exactly why I love sketches like these! They take the guesswork out and give you room to just play with colors and patterns.

The sketch made me want to layer my patterned papers but when I got to my centre embellishments, I just didn't want to stop! So then came the burlap, patterned paper and cardstock sticker!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! If you are participating in this weeks sketch challenge, be sure to leave a comment below as I would love to check out your take on the sketch as well!! Have a great weekend everyone!
