Bathroom Reno!!

It has been absolutely beautiful here lately..we're hitting 24 degrees most days (celcius..so that's about 75 F!) I come home for lunch and sit outside enjoying the sunny weather and wishing I didn't have to come back to this office of mine! For the most part (in winter), I'm very thankful for the job that I have. But, come Spring I'm wishing I had a job that allowed me to A) be outside, and B) have my dog with me wherever I went. But since I don't see that happening any time soon..I'll just make the most out of what I can have!

Things have been going really great in my new house. Today marks 3 weeks that I've owned my home and already, soo much has changed! All the walls are painted, new light fixtures, kitchen completely gutted and ready for the new cabinets that came in last week and need to be installed and now I have a new front porch that I'm in looove with..it has a nice landing, strong and wide stairs and an oh so welcoming appeal! Once I build my new fence to match this place will have done a complete 180! I've already even worked up my flower beds and listed all the flowers that will be going in there shortly..my goal is to make people stop and see that with a little TLC, any house can sparkle ;)

AND, speaking of sparkle.. a little sneaky peeky of my new bathroom..eeek! I love it :)

Pretty much everyone told me I was crazy for wanting a black chandelier in my bathroom, but I didn't care! I knew what I wanted and once it went in..the amount of compliments has been hilarious..isn't it beautiful??! I painted the walls 'Seascape Green' from Pitsburgh Paints and the vanity a plain black. Changed the faucets and took out the medicine cabinet, which will be replaced by a flat, black trimmed mirror. I can't wait to put this room all together and show you the final result! But for now, hope you enjoyed the peek!

Middle of Reno's

Hey Everyone!

so sorry its been quiet around here..I'm in the midst of house reno's and planning my new yard that by the time I get some down-time, I am ready for a nap! Although I've only had the house for 10.5 days, sooo much has changed already! All walls minus the kitchen have been completely repainted, the kitchen has been completely gutted, crackfilled, sanded and re-crackfilled and hopefully the walls will be scrubbed and painted by the end of the week!! New lighting has been installed (my favorite has been hanging in the bathroom now for all of 12 hours and I'm seriously giddy..I will show you pictures soon!!)

Now, weather permitting, a new front step will be built this coming weekend and the front porch will have new tongue and groove in it for me to paint next week. And then its waiting on the kitchen cabinets so we can build and install and then flooring!! After that will be building a new fence (I have a 50' x 130' lot..so its going to be a LOT of work!!) and planting my flower beds!

Last weekend I took the time to rake up 13 bags of leaves and in between piles I would stop and rest with Jakey in our new yard..its so huge I can barely contain my excitement..its what I've always wanted and its mine all mine :)

I have been taking photos along the entire process and will share them soon..just wanted to stop in and say 'hi' and let you know that things are going great!!!

No April Fool's Joke!

Its here! Its here! The day has finally arrived where I get the keys to my new home! I can't believe it =) It seems like Jan 31 was just a week ago and now here it is..possession day! I'll be busy this afternoon with the walk thru and ordering the new kitchen flooring and cabinetry but will try to post some photos of the work being done throughout the weekend.

Project 2010 Update!

The countdown is on, only 23 days til I am officially a home owner!! Eeek! I have been busy planning away, visualizing what this "home sweet home" of mine will look and feel like. I imagine my niece running around giggling, having friends and family over for barbeques and relaxing amongst the flowers I will plant there in the coming months..its all very surreal!

I spoke with the lawyers yesterday and am going in on Thursday to sign my life over and make this official. Its intimidating and exciting at the same time, but I just can't wait to get this process going! I am waving goodbye to my savings and hello to a whole new chapter in my life :)

I, of course, have become a stalker of this new home of mine (hehe) and I think the new neighbors are starting to figure out who the new owner is by my constant drive by's. I'm serious, almost every day I drive by just to look at it! This place is slowly revealing itself to me as the snow melts and I love what I see!!

I can't wait to share this new property with you and reveal my reno's as Project 2010 goes underway in just 23 days!!!
