Inspired

I had to include this "quote" in my February "Love List" .. how could I not? There have been a lot of changes in my life path this past year and I know they are only going to continue changing..but this quote, this sign..its left me inspired. Why stick to the same ol, same ol..when you could do something amazing? I don't know what all is in store for me in this life..but I guarantee sitting at a desk, surrounded by boring paperwork and financials is NOT what I was made for! So..here it is, "Do what you love and love what you do"

The "One"

My February "Love List" would not even come close to the truth if I didn't dedicate at least one post to this man:

He is my farmer, my beau..the only man that could ever compare to my daddio..he is definitely, "The One". We met in May of last year and after the second date, I knew he was the man I will some day marry. He makes me laugh, he makes me smile and when I'm with him..the entire world just fades away...(sorry for the mush, but it is Valentine's Day next week!)

So..although it would appear he is #9 on my Love List..I'm pretty sure we all know where he truly ranks ;)

I picture myself walking in to the sweetest bakery and ordering a hot chocolate..only to find this..aww, who would't love this?!

Crafty Get Togethers

It's finally here!! The day we take off for sunny California :) We have been planning and waiting for this day for months..I never thought it would arrive! With that being said, any blog posts that appear between now and February 22nd are all pre-written and scheduled..(didn't want to leave things too quiet over here in blogland!)

And carrying on with my February "Love List"..Day 5 is all about crafty get togethers! I don't know if you have noticed, but craft groups are showing up everywhere in magazines this month! From Country Living (UK), Martha Stewart and even Better Homes & Gardens! Unfortunately, I do not have many people in my circle at the moment that I could host these kinds of events with..but I'm determined to find some! Being creative and making crafts is always fun for me..but being around other inspirational crafters would make the experience so much more meaningful!

The blogging community is an amazing resource for finding inspirational crafters that you can identify with and, if given the chance, I can only imagine what my "dream team" would be if I could select a group of crafters to spend the day with, making cards and getting glittered up with...Melissa Phillips, anyone? That would.be.awesome!

Do you attend craft workshops? Have a group of friends that meets regularly  to work on fun projects with? If so..I envy you! If, like me, you are still searching for that group..why not take a chance and create your own? Attend a workshop at your LSS and find crafters that you just "click" with..you never know where it could lead! Some times its best just to work alone..clear your mind and relax..but, as we all know..some times you just need a few friends to make it better ;)

February Love List..

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the 2nd day of February..and Day 2 of my Love List!! Today I have a very sweet idea to share with you from CakeSpy ... Mail and Ship Cupcakes!!

I personally LOVE baking cupcakes and because it seems to be more rare every day to bake from scratch, I know I have quite a few people on my list that would appreciate this kind of mail in amongst their bills!!

Who wouldn't love to receive this? A freshly baked, moist cupcake in a cute little jar..ready to devour! I am definitely in love with this!!

Happy February!!

It's the first day of February today, a month which I have personally coined as "The Love Month". Although I will be out of the country from the 5th to the 21st, I plan on dedicating this month on my blog to everything "love"..photos I love, cards I love, Valentine's Day, you name it!!

To ring in this lovely month, I thought I would focus on a new book I picked up at Michaels that has seriously recharged my thinking of starting my own cottage industry. "The Handmade Marketplace" by Kari Chapin is..amazing. A must read and definitely something I am currently in love with!

This book is a must read for any crafter wanting to earn an income from their craft. It helps pick you up from your early beginnings, guides you through setting up a business, helps you with selling at craft fairs and how to become a success. I especially loved the Creative Collective..a resource pool of ingenious crafters who have become successful and provides you with tips on how to better your own business!

Seriously, if you haven't read this book yet...you are missing out!! Pick it up today, I promise you will love it!
